is an unstoppable duo of two sisters, Lauren and Karen Speciale. Lauren’s event planning career began at Jack’s La Jolla located in Southern California where she assisted in the opening of the three level restaurant and began coordinating events for the entire venue. By using the multi-level restaurant’s casual, fine dining, and lounge facilities, Lauren customized events ranging anywhere from cocktail receptions to weddings to corporate buy outs. In 2007, Lauren’s commitment to achieve success in each and every event, landed her the position as Private Party Director at one of New York City’s finest French Restaurants, La Grenouille.
Booking and coordinating all private events for La Grenouille’s busy Private Room Upstairs and Main Dining Room from 2007 to July 2010 has allowed Lauren to work directly with New York City’s most prestigious clientele. Attendees including Martha Stewart, Demi Moore, Elton John, Vera Wang, Prince Harry, and Graydon Carter are only a small list of the guests that have dined at these events. Cartier’s 100th Anniversary Dinner and Vanity Fair’s International Best Dressed Luncheon are just a sample of the corporate end of her experience with La Grenouille over the past few years.
But it is under the training and guidance of La Grenouille’s service team, led by owner Charles Masson, that Lauren has been taught the true art of the table, the beauty of flowers, and how to make guests feel like the upmost royalty. With this knowledge and experience Lauren has executed hundreds of successful events from start to finish.
A family passion for event planning makes Karen, Lauren’s sister, the perfect complement to her experience. Karen’s unique creativity brings a sharp edge to Lauren’s work. During Karen’s ten years of teaching in a public school, she spent additional time coordinating school-wide fundraisers, social events, and philanthropic actions involving the entire district. Karen’s ability to multi-task and problem solve allows her to work under any condition.
